Small dining area. Comfortable. Very friendly staff. Service was excellent. I've never had Ethiopian food before so I didn't really know what to expect nor did I know what to order. Leffe beer on the menu was a nice touch. I got a stew made with beef. I don't remember the name. My wife got pasta with meatballs. Who knew Ethiopians are so good at making Italian food. My daughter got a sample vegetarian plater. Everything was the perfect eating temperature. All in all we had a very favorable dining experience. Oh ya, baklava for dessert.
This was a delight. I had a blast. It was my first time eating Ethiopian and I think the bar was set high. The staff was delightful and took time to explain what we were ordering. We did the coffee ceremony... a MUST DO! I will definitely be back. I think next time I will sit at the traditional mesob for the full experience!
I had the pleasure of dining at Mesob Ethiopian Eats last Saturday with my family, and it was truly a delightful experience. Though the space is small, it is impeccably clean and offers a warm, inviting atmosphere. You can immediately tell this is a family-run gem, where the passion for good food and hospitality shines through. Our host, Rebecca, was the epitome of kindness and courtesy. She made sure we were comfortable, often checking in to ensure everything was perfect, and her genuine care added such a personal touch to the meal. Now, let’s talk about the food. Each dish was an absolute delight. The Vegetable Combo was vibrant and full of flavor, offering a satisfying variety of textures and spices. The Yesom Firfir was rich, savory, and comforting, while the Shiro was wonderfully balanced with just the right amount of heat and depth. For the meat lovers, the Kitfo was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned, truly a standout. We finished the meal with a sweet touch—Baklava—which was flaky, sweet, and the perfect end to a memorable evening. Overall, our experience at Mesob Ethiopian Eats was fabulous, and we left extremely satisfied. If you're looking for authentic Ethiopian cuisine in a warm, family-friendly setting, this spot is an absolute must-visit!
Incredible spot! A colleague brought my boyfriend and I here, we had such a wonderful time. The food was amazing and the host was very gracious. Highly recommend the coffee ceremony.
Went for dinner and had their vegetarian combo - SO good and so filling. The person serving us was very friendly and attentive. Loved the experience - definitely give them a try!
First time here and eating Ethiopian food. I didnt know what to expect. Wow, it was great! Started with the Ayib roll (cottage cheese, spinach, tumeric) and beef samosa which was so flavorful. We tried our friends veggie combo and then selected the meat with lamb and veggie combo. The injera wrap is so good and light. The toppings ate served on top of the wrap or injera and you eat with your hands. I'd recommend the lentil and cabbage veggie option. The split pea was great as well. My husband loved the lamb. The Server is the owner and she is fantastic! Definitely recommended. They have a regular menu too
Our first time eating Ethiopian food and it was amazing. The service we received from our 2 servers was fantastic, and 2 guests had food allergies at the table and were well advised. I had the Mesob Combo with lamb and split peas and lentils with injera. The servings were large and absolutely delicious. Finished the meal off with baklava and Ethiopian coffee. When I’m back in Winnipeg again we will definitely return.
My girlfriends and I went to that restaurant for the first time. It looks very nice and the service was perfect. The lady there was very smiley and just genuinely great with clients. The food was also very delicious. We got a mix of veggies and meat with the traditional bread. I would for sure go back.
